We do this by prioritizing the following values:

Collaborate

We take a team approach to all our cases. Each team will be led by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), utilize a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) to ensure continuity of care, and have direct service staff who are highly trained and certified as Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT). Our BCBAs also collaborate regularly on their cases and often provide support for one another to share areas of expertise.

Advocate

We work hard to advocate for our clients so that they get the best possible care across settings. We communicate with insurance directly to get the best coverage, we work with families to navigate the IEP process, and we work with our local and national professional organizations to lobby for the best possible supports for people on the Autism Spectrum and with other diagnosed disabilities and disorders.

Educate

We believe in the science and life changes that Applied Behavior Analysis makes possible, so we want to share the most cutting-edge knowledge. We share this with our clients through both parent training and direct therapy, with our staff through regular professional development and staff training, with schools through staff development and consultation, and with the world at large through creating a resource based online presence and sharing in new research in the field. Our training model for BCBAs-in-training is also based on the newest research in best practice and ensures that we are creating the highest caliber behavior analysts.

Innovate

We want to be forward focused in everything that we do and pursue ABA in new avenues beyond the usual. Our team loves to learn and apply the newest research and methodologies to move our field forward and provide the most effective service for our clients.

Why Us?

We know that there are an abundance of ABA therapy providers out there,
but we want you to know what sets us apart.

We take a collaborative approach to all cases. Our BCBAs regularly collaborate on cases so that the variety of expertise we have on staff can be put to use for each client. We want to take advantage of the strengths of our team as a whole to best serve you.

We see parent participation as crucial to our process. We require families to be present for sessions and have goals of their own. This helps you as a parent to learn behavioral skills and strategies to apply outside of sessions so that progress is faster and longer lasting.

We share client progress in real time through the most cutting-edge digital tools, that way all staff on the team can be up to date at all times.

We communicate regularly with all of your other service provides for total treatment planning, which means everyone works together as a team towards the same goals to be more effective.

We go above and beyond to make sure our staff are supported, far beyond typical industry standards. All of our therapists are Registered Behavior Technicians. We also love to train up and coming BCBAs and have a teaching mentality to all that we do.

We are never happy with status quo. We are always looking to the leaders in our field for the most proven and up to date research and strategies to best support you and your child.

We provide a digital scrapbook of your child’s progress, so that you can see their progress through videos and photos from the first day to the last.

Our Founder: Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Sarah Heiniger, M.Ed., Ed.S., NCSP, BCBA

Founder, CEO

Sarah founded Nexus in 2017 based on her desire to provide exceptional service to children on the Autism Spectrum and their families.  In doing so, she has discovered a love for the business side of things and for training future behavior analysts and ABA Certified therapists to do amazing work. Sarah has been a Board Certified Behavior Analyst since 2014 and, before that, applied the principles of behavior analysis in the public school setting as a School Psychologist for more than a decade. Her experience there has helped her passionately advocate for the families of NSG in their local schools. Outside of work, Sarah enjoys traveling with her husband and three kids, cooking, doing DIY projects, reading cozy mysteries, and watching The Great British Baking Show.
